Galatians 3:13
13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Galatians 3:13 (KJV)
  • When Jesus was cursed on the cross, he redeemed us from the curse of sin.
Deuteronomy 28:61
61Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
Deuteronomy 28:61 (KJV)
  • The curse includes every sickness and disease.

1 Peter 2:24
24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)

  • Use your faith to regain or maintain your health.
  • According to Romans, we have all been given faith, so now we can grow it and develop it.
Mark 5:25-34
25And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
26And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
27When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
28For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
29And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
30And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
31And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
33But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
Mark 5:25-34(KJV)
Mark 9:23
23Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
Mark 9:23 (KJV)

1) Real Bible faith is based on God’s Word or promise. – TOP

  • Faith is not knowing God is able.  All Christians know that God is able.  Faith is based on knowing what God said he would do or has done for us.  Its based on taking God at his Word and promise.
Romans 10:17
17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17 (KJV)
Romans 4:16
16Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
Romans 4:16 (KJV)
  • It is by grace that everything we have in Christ has been provided.  However, we have to know how to access it.  Faith is the ATM card that gets us access to God’s provision.
Romans 4:17-18
17(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
18Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
Romans 4:17-18 (KJV)
  • Naturally speaking, Abraham had no hope.  He knew he was way to old to be a father and Sarah was way past child-bearing age, and she had no children up to this point.
Romans 4:19-21
19And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb:
20He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
21And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Romans 4:19-21 (KJV)
  • Abraham did not worry about the circumstances.  He just took God at His Word and believed the promise rather than what he saw.  Abraham said that God’s Word alone was sufficient for him.  His faith was based on God’s Word only.  God said, so he denied what he saw and believed what God said.
Genesis 15:4
4And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
Genesis 15:4 (KJV)
John 4:46-53
46So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
48Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
49The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
50Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
51And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
52Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
53So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
John 4:46-53 (KJV)
  • This nobleman could have been upset that Jesus would not come with him.  Instead, he took Jesus at His Word and believed and had faith, and his son was healed.  We also cannot take Jesus physically with us when we have need of a miracle, but we can do like this man.  We can see what God has promised us and take God at his Word with a lack of evidence and have faith in the Word rather than the circumstance.  God’s Word is good enough for me.
Jeremiah 1:12
12Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
Jeremiah 1:12 (KJV)
  • Many people lose the healing in progress by turning attention to how they feel after prayer and off God’s Word.

2) Your faith in God’s Word is your “title” to healing. – TOP

Hebrews 11:1
1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)
  • A better translation of this verse is, “Faith is the title-deed of things hoped for . . .”.
  • Having faith in God’s Word is having the title to what we do not see yet.  The grace that God gives for his entire provision is in the invisible spiritual realm.  When we read what God says we have, we get faith, and that becomes our title-deed to what God says is ours before we see it.
Daniel 10:2-14
2In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.
3I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
4And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel;
5Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
6His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
7And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.
8Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
9Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.
10And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
11And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
12Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
13But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
14Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
Daniel 10:2-14 (KJV)
  • In this passage in Daniel, it shows that God sent the answer to Daniel’s prayer the first day that he prayed, but Daniel did not get his answer for 3 weeks.  We need to take to heart Daniel’s example and not give up.  When we pray for something we know belongs to us, we need to hold onto that.  At that point, God has given us the title, so we need to believe we already own it even though we have not seen it yet.
  • His Word needs to be good enough evidence that he has already provided what he said.

3) Bible faith is released by believing and speaking. – TOP

Matthew 8:5-13
5And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
6And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
7And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
8The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
9For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
10When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
11And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
12But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
13And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
Matthew 8:5-13 (KJV)
  • This passage is a great example of the authority of God’s Word.  Speaking God’s Word releases your faith and God’s authority.  God answers our prayers in the spiritual realm when we pray.  We cannot see it when we ask for it.  We just need to speak and believe it and that brings it to us from the spiritual realm and into the physical realm.  God said it, so we can believe it because we have the title.
2 Corinthians 4:13
13We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
2 Corinthians 4:13 (KJV)
James 3:3-5
3Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
4Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
5Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
James 3:3-5 (KJV)
  • We need to take control of our tongue which is the rudder of our life and turn it toward what God says instead of what we see.  We need to speak in faith instead of how we feel.
Genesis 17:5
5Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
Genesis 17:5 (KJV)
Proverbs 12:18
18There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
Proverbs 12:18 (KJV)
  • Take control of your tongue.  Your words can hurt you.  You can actually cause bad things to happen to you by what you speak.  Instead let your words speak for you and not against you.

4) Faith praises God in advance for the answer. – TOP

Joshua 6:16
16And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.
Joshua 6:16 (KJV)
  • The Israelites let out a shout of praise before the walls fell down.  They started praising God for the victory as Joshua said that God HAS given us the victory.  The walls were still there.  The enemy was still inside and on the walls with arrows aimed down at them.  They praised before they got it in faith because they already had the title to the victory.  That is what we need to do.
