Galatians 3:13
13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Galatians 3:13 (KJV)

Deuteronomy 28:61
61Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
Deuteronomy 28:61 (KJV)

  • The curse that we are redeem from includes every sickness and disease.

1 Peter 2:24
24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)

John 6:38
38For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
John 6:38 (KJV)

  • God wants us to be healthy and well.  It is His will.

John 14:9
9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
John 14:9 (KJV)

Acts 10:38
38How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

. . . curing all who were harassed by the devil . . .
Acts 10:38 (Moffat)

. . . curing all who were overpowered by the devil . . .
Acts 10:38 (Williams)

. . . curing all who were under the devil’s tyranny . . .

John 5:6-14
6When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
10The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
11He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
12Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
13And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
14Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
John 5:6-14 (KJV)

  • Sin can be a factor that can open the door to the devil.  Keep your flesh under control.
  • Don’t let your dog walk you.  You have to control your body not let your body control you.

1 Corinthians 9:27
27But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
1 Corinthians 9:27 (KJV)

  • There are times that we mess up.  We have to do something about it.  We need to repent and get going in the right direction.  Don’t just ignore it.

1 Corinthians 11:31
31For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
1 Corinthians 11:31 (KJV)

  • We need to judge ourselves in order to avoid a lot of trouble.  Don’t wait, get it taken care of.

1 Corinthians 11:30
30For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
1 Corinthians 11:30 (KJV)

  • Not taking care of your sin is a big reason why a lot of Christians are sick and die young.  Its not because of God or his wrath.  Our sin and unrepentance can cause us to tie his hands and not allow his best for us.  You know what you need to repent for even if nobody else does.  Repent and get it right so you can let God take care of you.

Philippians 4:6
6Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.
Philippians 4:6 (AMP)

  • Worry, stress, and fear send your body a die message.  It is a sin to fret, worry or have anxiety.
  • We all have things in our life that we have to deal with.  They may include health, finances, family, etc.  What are we supposed to do about these concerns?

1 Peter 5:7
7Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
1 Peter 5:7 (AMP)

  • Turn it all over to God.  If he takes care of the birds, the flowers, and everything else, what are you worried about?  He will take care of you.  Let him deal with your problems.  Walk in faith.  Speak the Word not the circumstance.

5) Obey your commandment to love others. – TOP

John 13:34
34A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
John 13:34 (KJV)

  • command – formal or official order

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
4Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
5It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].
6It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
7Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].
8Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth].
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (AMP)

Exodus 23:25
25And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
Exodus 23:25 (KJV)

  • In the old testament, they had a command to obey and they would receive health.  Their command was to serve God.  We also have a command which is to walk in love.  Since that fulfills all the law according to Romans 13:8-10, then it stands to reason, obeying that command will keep us healthy and add years to our lives.

6) Use your faith and medicine together if needed. – TOP

2 Chronicles 16:12-13
12And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians.
13And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.
2 Chronicles 16:12-13 (KJV)

  • It does not say that it is wrong to seek physicians, but it does say that we need to seek the Lord.  If the doctors tell you to take medicine or do exercise, do it.  But you also need to put God first and make sure he is involved.

Hebrews 11:1
1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)

  • Real faith is faith in God’s Word.  Believe in his promises from His Word.

Ephesians 2:8
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians 2:8 (KJV)

John 14:2
2In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:2 (KJV)

  • Do you still believe this promise even if you have some pain?  Is the promise null even though you have pain?

Revelation 22:12
12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Revelation 22:12 (KJV)

  • Here is another promise.  Ask yourself if you believe this promise.  Do you really believe that Jesus is coming back and we will be rewarded?  Is there any circumstance that will cause you not to believe this promise?  Chances are you will still believe this no matter what pain or hardship you have.  Your feelings most likely don’t have any affect on whether you believe these promises.
What about the following promises?  Don’t let your pain affect your believing in the promises.  Believe you are healed even if you have pain.  Believe you are abundantly supplied even if you have no money.  Because he promised.

Mark 16:17-18
17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Mark 16:18 (KJV)

  • God’s promises are irrelevant to how we feel.  If one promise is true, then they all are.  Just because you don’t feel like you’ve been healed does not mean you have not been healed because God’s Word is always true.
